この本は、最近の新生児研究の成果からわかった
新生児の驚くべきコミュニケーション能力について
実験例などを挙げて解説しています。

また、実際に誕生を記憶している子供達(現在は大人)
の体験話やそのときに受けた心の傷が大人になっても
残っている例などを載せています。

よく日本人は他人に子供や身内のことを謙遜して
悪意なくけなしてしまうことがありますが、これは
本当にやめたほうがいいな、と思いました。

大人でもそうですが、もしも言葉がわかって子供や
新生児、胎児が母親が自分のことをけなすのを
聞いたらどんなに悲しくなるか、と思ったら
切なくなりました。
