「小さなレース」というタイトルに惹かれて購入。が、しかし私は10センチ位のを想像してたので、ドイリーでは、ほとんどが25センチ前後の、初心者にはいきなり大きいものばかりだと感じました。しかも「スイスイ編める」とある作品も私にはスイスイ…とはいきませんでした。
しかしながら、どの作品もきれいで、特に和風のものなんてめずらしく、もう少し慣れてきたらぜひトライしてみたい。
まずは小さな作品から…、という人には、同じ私のカントリー別冊から出ている「直径10センチの小さなレース」がおすすめです。

ちょっと太目の糸（エミーグランデ使用）で編んだ小さめのドイリーやコースター、それと小さなモチーフを繋げたテーブルクロスみたいな大物まで、
和洋のテイストを取り混ぜた作品が紹介されています。

「わたしのカントリー別冊」だけあって、ジャグカバーに力が入って入るような（笑）でも、あんまりカントリーっぽくない和風の作品がまた、新鮮ですてきでした。
「初めての方でも簡単に作れます！」とあるけれど、結構難しいのもあります。

実際編もうと試みてみましたが、初心者のわたしには今の所和風のコースターとクロス型のドイリーの編み方が良く分からない。
編み図は全体が載っていて親切かもしれないけど、編む際の手順とかがもう少し親切だともっと良かったかも。

太糸レースですいすい編める作品がたくさん掲載されています。
レース初心者さん向けに３段階の難易度付で作品が紹介されているので、
到達度に合わせた作品選びも可。
作品に使用された某国産メーカーレース糸のカラー見本帳が
掲載されているのも、きっと役に立つことでしょう。
この本でレース編みの楽しさに是非触れてみて下さい。
