タイトルどおり、紅茶に関する知識ゼロだった私にぴったりの一冊だった。
紅茶の歴史から、おいしいいれ方、それぞれの銘柄の特徴、産地による違い、さらには紅茶を使ったお菓子のレシピまでが載っている。
カラーページも多く、また、どこからでも読める構成になっていて、実用書としても、軽い読み物としても楽しめる。
パラパラとめくっているだけで紅茶のミニ知識が入ってきて、いっぱしの紅茶通になった気分が味わえる。

茶葉の等級からティーカップやポットの選び方、紅茶に関する歴史の背景、産地と主だった茶園の紹介など図解で見やすい入門書です。初心者でもできるいれ方から、おすすめの紅茶デザートにブランド紅茶の紹介と一冊参考にあるといい本です。

構成は紅茶の歴史について書かれた前半、種類や淹れ方について書かれた後半とに分かれている。
見開きのページでひとつのテーマが終わるようにできているので読みやすい。
また紅茶を使ったレシピのページは全編カラーで見易い。

歴史関係に関しては少し浅さを感じるものの、紅茶を知る上で浅く広い知識を得るにはぴったりな一冊。
