他の方も書いていらっしゃいますが、設定は良かったと思います。
でも、登場人物たちを生かしきれていないと感じました。

主人公の自意識過剰、優柔不断にうんざりします。
妻子があのようなことになっていなくても、どこかでつまづいただろうな〜と想像してしまいます。
もし妻子のことで責任を感じていたのだとしたら、きちんと医者を続けて、人生をかけて償うべきだったのではないでしょうか？

「償い」なんてどこにもなく、感動は全くありませんでした。
唯一理解できるのは真人くんのお母さんくらいかな…。

まず、買う前の宣伝から、少年が犯人か？と説明されていて
ここまで説明されていると興味をそがれる。
読んでいくうちに分かっていくものではないか？
これが事前にあるので、盛り上がらない。
既に内容が分かっているようなもの。買わせるだけか。
題とカバーの絵と宣伝でうまくやっている。

話の設定に無理がある。
ホームレスで警察と仲良くなり、探偵のように活躍できて
探している人に出えて捜査もスムーズにいくはずがない。
刑事や図書館などからうまい具合に情報が入りすぎ。
うまく出来すぎた出会いばかり。ありえんよ。
警察内部のことなどもよく書かれてもいない。

最後のほうのある女性の家へは傍観してないで
家を訪ねるだろうに。
知っている人だし、１回家にも入ったのだし、
命を心配していて、ましてや好意をもっているのだから・・。
周りをうろうろ、見ているだけなんて・・。
話を繋げるための設定ばかり。
最後も都合よすぎだよ。
結局、殺人事件が起こっただけで、救いもない。

いたずらに殺人や悲劇を起こしているだけで楽しませたいのか、
それとも題名のような名をつけるならもっと深く人の心を描き出すのか、
どっちらもできていない。浅い。
既存の探偵小説やハードボイルドを読んで
下手に継ぎ足して真似たような、いいとこどり。でいて、よくもない。
なんか、素人が書いたよう。下手すぎる。

野宿者に落ちぶれた主人公
生について独特な思考を持つ中学生

その二人を中心に、ある市で起こる連続殺人

2人は、その交流を通して、心に変化を起こしていく・・・


帯には、やたらと感動という文字があるが、
感情の変化、特に主人公の心のゆれが、十分に描かれておらず、
感情移入しにくいし、なんか納得がいかん。

正直、こんなに何で売れているのかわかりません。
