飛田和緒さんは、家庭料理にポイントひと匙（ときに手抜きに近い簡単新技、
ときに「これさえ守れば」の明快なコツ）が持ち味の人気料理家なのですが、
おおらかで清々しいエッセイ（日記）を主体にしたことでよりリアルに、彼女が
大切にする“料理”というものが伝わってきます。

料理の完成写真もカラーページもないけれど、こぐれひでこさん張りの手書き
イラストはとても雰囲気あります。
そして不思議なもので、文章にも料理と同じような魅力があるんですね。
朝の通勤電車の中で読めば、きっと、さっぱりとしたきれいな気持ちで職場に
到着できるでしょう。ついでに、今晩のおかずだって決まってしまうかも。

恐らく本来の料理本には載せるには呆気ない、しかし彼女が頻繁に食べて
いるであろう、“あともうひとつ何か”のときの“お気に入り”。
この本のレシピには、そんな雰囲気があちらこちらに垣間見れます。

飛田和緒さんのレシピはどれも簡単でおいしく、初心者向きレシピがいっぱいです。この本も基本のレシピからちょっとだけオリジナルというような簡単なものばかりです。これを読んでわたしももうちょっと四季（行事、イベント）を意識してみようかな~という気持ちになりました。写真がない料理本は好きではないのですが、これはエッセイの延長のようでとっても読みやすくわかりやすいです。
