六本木ヒルズは単なる建造物ではなく、ホリエモンをはじめとする
「ヒルズ族」なる言葉が広まったところで、流行の現場となった感が
あります。回転ドアの事故も忘却の彼方です。

そんな、六本木ヒルズから現代の一部を篠山紀信が切り取っています。

・NIGOと牧瀬理穂のリビングの一枚
・楽天の朝礼の一枚
・J-Waveやテレビ朝日のスタジオの一枚
・アカデミーヒルズでの文化人の一枚
・・・

おそらく、六本木ヒルズのポートレートであれば、どんな写真家でも
撮れると思います。ただ、篠山紀信だからこそ、これだけ撮れた
（撮らせてもらえた）と思うのです。

この写真集は、六本木ヒルズの00年代とその文化を表した遺産に
なるのではないかと思います。

　六本木ヒルズが、その昔の丸ビルや、東京タワーや、東京都庁のように時代のシンボリックな建造物であることは間違いない。IT起業家とアーティストと海外ブランドとマスメディアと投資顧問会社が主役のこのビルは、“非日常、アート、ヴァーチャルがビジネスの中心となった時代の象徴”である。あるいは“本来ドメスティックなものを変換して海外資本にマッチングする錬金術”。
篠山紀信の写真は、この空間に集う人々、起こった出来事を、“ありのままに”写し取っている。肯定でも否定でもなく、時代を映す写真である。価値判断は見る人間に委ねられる。
回転ドア事故、ホリエモン逮捕、村上逮捕と、このビルが時事的なニュースに映し出される機会は多い。全体を強迫神経症的なアトモスフィアが包むこのビルは、良し悪し抜きでまさに今の日本の姿そのものだろう。
テレビ映像でこのビルを眺める度に思うことは、他の建物や風景とのアンバランスなスケール感である。まるでフォトショップで150%拡大した画像を別の風景画像に貼り付けたような違和感。このビルで起こっている出来事が世の中を動かしているのではないかという錯覚と、錯覚がすぐさま現実に反転していく今の世の中のシステム。そういうシステムだからこそ、六本木ヒルズは“錯覚”ではなく、“現実”なのだ。
　そうした“現実”があらためて突きつけられる写真集ではある。
