新作「スパイラル」と合わせて買いました。
彼女の魅力が行間からあふれてくるような本でした。
音楽を聴いていると、その素晴らしい才能とオリジナリティに思わず唸ってしまいますが、ピアノが好きで好きでたまらず、そしてそのピアノを究めるために日夜努力を欠かさないという「努力と根性」の意外な一面を知って、ますますファンになりました。

ジャズファンのみならず、新しいことにチャレンジしようとしている人や、これから留学しようと思っている大学生にもお勧めの一冊です。
勇気と元気がもらえます。

彼女の行動力、気持ち、考え方など、多くを学び、感銘を受けました。
　　単に、彼女の人柄を知ることが出来るだけでなく、生き方を学んだような気がしています。
　　心に残る名著の１つになりそうです。

　上原ひろみは磨き上げられてきた本物。だからその「振る舞い」をそのまま素直に文章にすれば、名作ができる。

　彼女は幼くして「大好きなもの」に出会えた幸運はあるけれど、それを徹底的に鍛え上げた、自分の生き方そのものに厳しかった。他人にも厳しいので周囲の人は辟易したかもしれないが、エネルギッシュで魅力的な部分と好意的に解釈しておこう。そういう人柄が、ちゃんと伝わってくる作品になっている。

　神舘さんも余計なことは何も足さず、かといって乱さず。綺麗にディスプレイしてみせているし、白土さんの写真も彼女の魅力を伝えることに専念しているように思える。音楽に興味がある、ないに関わらず薦めたい伝記である。


　音楽家の伝記や音楽雑誌の解説をみると訳のわからない（そもそも日本語なのか？　というような）記述をしている評論家がいるけれど、それはとりあげた音楽家が偽物なので誤魔化さなくてはいけないのか、素材を台無しにする三流のコックみたいな未熟なライターだということなのだろう。
　本書はそんな駄本ではないので、安心して手にとっていただきたい。
