　ひとりの男の、刻々と崩壊していく姿を見事に描いています。ホラー的要素もありますが、それを除いても、現実というリアルな恐怖がこの本には詰まっています。読みやすい文体でさくさく進むページもみそ。なかなかいい線いってます。また会社の冷酷な面をうまく描いており、主人公の再就職先の電気店の描写は凄かった。あそこまでとはいかないまでも、近い会社はあるのではないでしょうか。個人的には一番ビビリました。
　しかし、不満が無いわけでもありません。物語がかなりしっかり作ってあるので、あえてホラー的要素を加味する必要性を感じないとともに、その描き方には消化不良のものもあります。
ここから、「ネタバレ」注意。読んでない人は読まないでくださいね。
　結局あの土地はなんだったのか?　山将のおやじの描き込みが足りないような。結局どうなってしまったのか? あの柵の向こうの男は何者なのか?　幻想で無いなら、あの注射痕はなんなのか?　結局一番の???はドリームハウスとはそもそも何なのか?　謎が多多残る終わり方のようなきもします。
　しかしねそれも作者の意図と取れなくも無いです。山将のおやじの言う通り「わからんことはわからんまま、すなおに受けとめていたほうがいい」そう言う事なのかもしれませんね。

ホラー系を期待して読むと、ちと違う。しかし、リアルに恐ろしい。等身大の主人公が人生を転がり落ちる様は、かなり息苦しい閉塞感でもって、この身にせまってきます。怪異的な要素もありますが、こちらの方はこの人の創作面によくみられる展開で、ホラー系というより幻想系の結末をむかえます。
とにかく、ページターナーです。読む速度が落ちません。いいせんいってます。

先日、直木賞をとった奥田英朗の「最悪」や「邪魔」に通じるところがあって、すべての意図に反して、ズルズルと落ちていく男の姿が素晴らしいエンターテイメントとなっいて、あっという間に読み切りました。

なにしろ、この人は文章がカッコ良いですね。読みやすく、不思議な力強さがあります。

現実の不況下におけるサラリーマン残酷物語としても読めるし、一級品のホラー作品としても楽しめます。映画化したら、「リング」「らせん」を超えるものになるんじゃないでしょうか。
かなりオススメです！
