学校教育で受けた英語の授業でまともに英語を話せる人なんて、
殆どいないと思いますが、実は中学1年生で習得する英語だけで
ここまで英語は話せるんだと驚きの内容。
ブースケとパンダのコンビとともに、謎解きをしつつ、
いつのまにか英語に抵抗がなくなっている自分がいる！
内容もたのしいし、絵もいいです。

すでに『夜明けの晩に』や『ブラック・アンブレラ』、『マンゴーの木』等の優れた著作がある、作家、山田真美さんの書いた英語攻略本だけあって、とても読み応えがありました。

しっかりした、しかも面白いストーリー展開。まるで自分が本のなかの登場人物になってるような、わくわくする臨場感が、この本にはありました。英語の勉強をするといった構えた気持ちでなく、自然に英語の世界に入っていけました。こういう場面には、こういう英語を話せばいいのだという物語から英語に接近し、英語から物語を思い出すという構成になっていて、とても楽しく読むことができ、なにか得した感じの一冊でした。
それに、こんな英語物知りになる知識もいっぱいでした。
teach one's grandmother to suck eggs.

文句なしに面白い！　一度ページを開いたら一気に読ませる筆力は山田真美さんならでは。本書は「小難しい英文法の説明なんか読もうものなら、すぐに頭痛がする」英語アレルギーの初心者のために書き下ろされた本なのだろうが、実際のところ、初心者が読んでもバイリンガルが読んでもそれぞれに楽しめる痛快英語攻略本だ。

なにしろストーリーがミステリー仕立てである。全編に英語のなぞなぞやアナグラムなど遊び心が満載で、しかも山田真美さんお得意のどんでん返しも用意されている。
かく言う私もバイリンガルの帰国子女ではあるが、この1冊は本当に楽しめた。超オススメ本だ。
