死者の魂が残された者へ送る小さな魔法、切なくて、それでいて温かい物語です。
大切なサヤとユウ坊を残して死という運命を受け入れるしかないダンサ様、残された妻をただ見守るしかない彼の気持ちが軽快な文章の中に痛い程伝わってきます。
本当の別れとユウ坊にかけた最後の魔法。
彼が幾度となく繰り返す「馬鹿っサヤ」という言葉が胸にきます。

加納朋子さんの作品に共通する温もりが「ささらさや」という題名と同じように優しく読み終えた後も包み込んでくれます。

安心して読める本です。後味の悪い終わり方をする話はないと思います。おおざっぱに言うと、事故で夫に先立たれた妻とその子ども(赤ん坊です)がトラブル？に巻き込まれますが出会った人々や亡き夫の助けを得てそれらを乗り越えていく話です。ミステリーというカテゴリーには収まらない作品です。

「ばかっさやめ。すぐに人を信じるんだから」
少し乱暴で、でも愛情いっぱいのこの科白が本当に聞こえてくる。
それ程、登場人物が生き生きと息づいている作品である。

馬鹿正直で少女のような幼さのサヤと
生まれてすぐのユウスケを置いて交通事故で死んでしまった夫。
連作短編集となっていて一話ごとにサヤはちょっとした事件に

巻き込まれる。しかし家族が心配でたまらない夫は幽霊となって
見守りつづけ、謎を解き、サヤたちを守る。

ファンタジーと日常の謎の合いの子のような暖かい作品。

設定だけ読むと子供だましのような小説と思うかもしれない。
だが、そんな安っぽさは微塵も感じられない。
むしろありえないはずの設定を素直に信じ

その世界にすんなりと入り込むことができる。

なぜだろう？
すぐに人を信じてしまうサヤに私も知らない間に
影響を受けたのかもしれない。
彼女の暖かい人柄に多くの人が救われる。
おせっかいで口うるさいおばあちゃんたち３人衆。
口が悪く、見た目もヤンキーのようなママ友達。
いまどき珍しい「ご近所付き合い」がここでは展開されていて

それがほほえましく、うらやましい。

きっと彼女は永遠に変わらないんだろう。
ずっと少女のような心をもちつづけるんだろう。

けれども、夫はその様子を見守ることはできても
一緒に体験することは二度とない。
彼女が魅力的であればあるほど、夫の最後の決断はさびしく、
読後感は切ない。
