1998年に著者が遭った事故のシーンを私はテレビで見ていて、その衝撃に体が震えていたのを今でも覚えている。本書は著者が辿ることになった”運命”を、支えてくれた人達への思いや感謝の気持ち、そして著者自身の様々な心の葛藤などが丁寧に描かれている。著者の妻と二人の子供、彼を治療するドクターとナース、そして彼をサポートする友人達。本書は彼と共に一つのチームとして戦う人々の物語でもある。黒いマントの男のエピソードは、これが幻覚であるのか霊的なものであるかは判断が分かれるだろうが、著者にとって重要な”存在”であることは間違いないだろう。最近本書を元にしたドキュメント映画も公開されたので、機会があったらそちらも観ようと思う。

「アマゾンの流れ」のように
この一言は何を意味しているのだろう？

その意味を知るためにも、ぜひ読んで欲しい一冊だ。

ベストセラーの一冊・映画化で話題のこの本ですが、
ぜひ心をまっさらにして読んで欲しい。

僕は、今まで読んだ、どの哲学書より心に響いた。

太田さんの人柄に触れて感動が鳴り止まない。

一度も中断することなく、一気に読み上げてしまった。

この本に勇気付けられる人が世の中にどんなにいることだろう
多くの学生・社会人みなさんにぜひ読んで欲しい。

太田さんからの、けしてあきらめることなく一人一人濃い人生を
歩んで欲しい!そんなメッセージを深く感じれる一冊です。

太田さんがんばって下さい。僕もがんばります。

　近年、ここまで「生きる」ということに対して考えさせられる本があっただろうか。ここまで、迫真に迫ったドキュメンタリーがあっただろうか。大クラッシュ、灼熱の地獄。レーサーとしての誇り、人間としての誇りを炎の中に失った著者は、絶望に打ち勝ち、新たな人生を力強く歩み始める。本当の「死」見てきた著者による文章は、やさしい語り口ながら、真実の苦しみを痛いほどに伝えてくる。しかしそこには、生に対するしっかりとした決意がある。誰にでもすすめられる、生きる力のわく一冊。
