私の知人が精神病院に入院する事になり、病院に連れて行く際、さまざまな問題が浮上しました。患者をどのように扱っていいのか、退院後の接し方について。最近、精神病患者による様々な事件が多発している事もあり、患者を以前とは同じに扱うべきではないと言う意見が多く、自身ではすごく理不尽に感じながら皆と同じようにするべきなのか悩んでいたところこの本に出会い、自分の考えは間違っていなかったんだと自信が持てました。身近に精神病患者のいる方は、絶対に読んで欲しい１冊です。とても参考になると共に勇気づけられます。

（おそらく）精神疾患のために医療を頑なに拒否する人をどう説得するか−。時間をかけて説得し本人の同意を得ること、説得する人の安全を確保するために複数の人間で行くこと、心理士など専門家が同行することを考えると、相当の費用がかかるはずです。その費用、あるいは救急事態に至る前に手を打てる施策（たとえばソフト救急の充実、不安があればすぐに往診や訪問看護が来るなど）をどう地域（市町村・都道府県）で負担するのか、その議論を地域の議題にしていかなければ根本的な問題解決の道はひらけないのではと思います。しかし現実には問題を知っているごく一部の人やご家族が声をあげ続けなければ道は拓けないことだと思います。

精神病というモノが
いかにこの世にまんえいしているのか

よく考えたら
精神がやんでいるのも
身体がカゼをひくのも

同じように病気として考えれば

同じようにかかりやすいし
病院に行くことも
普通に考えた方がいいのではないのでしょうか

精神病のイメージを
変えてくれた一冊
