凄く愉快で面白い！
サンドロがとにかく愉快な人物。ただの豪気な大法螺吹きかと思っていても、読んでいると本当にこういう人なんだ！と思えてくる。かっこよくて宴会の主、サンドロおじさん。

彼の結婚の顛末を描いた可笑しな短編「略奪結婚、あるいはエンドゥール人の謎」のエンドゥール人とは、作者が幼少の頃作り出した一民族。何かと出てくる彼らは、端的に言えば虐げられているというか変わり者扱いされていて、差別されているんですが、でも書き方がユーモアたっぷりでエンドゥール人がらみのエピソードはどれもくすくす笑えます。

最後の「大きな家の大いなる一日」は何故か知らない風景なのに懐かしさが込み上げて、秀逸。
この本は膨大なサンドロの中の抜粋。全部違うタイプの話で面白いので、勿論満足の一冊ですがもっと読んでみたくなります。

やはりマイナーな文学です、最初のレビューを書くことになりました。
ロシアの現代幻想文学はほとんど翻訳されないまま21世紀へ突入しました。この小説以外にも21世紀になってようやく翻訳された幻の名著というのはよく出版される傾向にあります。
おそらく日本人でロシア語のできる数の限られていることと出版社は儲かるものでないと出しにくい状況です。

とてもファンタジーで社会主義の弱点を暴き、哲学的にも参考になる「20世紀のカラマゾフの兄弟」と評価しています。
