イフを使ってものを考えるのが「IF思考」。つまり、仮定に基づいてものを考えることである。しかし、日本人はこの思考法である「仮定法」が大の苦手である。だから、ビジネス、英語、交渉事、人間関係…みなうまくいかない。日本は煎じ詰めると、「IFのない国」なのである。しかし、欧米人はこの仮定法により、理詰めで思考する。最近、日本では企業不祥事が続き、トップの謝罪が問題になっているが、謝っただけでは問題は解決しない。また、安易に謝っても意味はない。もし謝るなら英語なら“I’m sorry if I did anything wrong.”とすべきで、この「if」以下が大事だ。このように、「IF思考」ができる人はすべてにおいて強い。もし、あなたが、英語ばかりか、ビジネス、人間関係などにおいて成功を望むなら、一刻も早く「IF思考」を身につけるべきだ。日本の英語教育界の第一人者の著者が、数々のエピソードで「IF思考」の核心に迫る。


著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

松本 道弘
1940年大阪生まれ。関西学院大学卒業。日商岩井に勤務する間に、海外へ一歩も出ず独力で英語を磨く。その後、西山千氏に師事し、その推挙でアメリカ大使館の同時通訳者となり、後にNHKテレビ上級英語講座の講師を務める。現在、紘道館館長、国際ディベート学会会長。提唱する英語道に基づいたICEEコミュニケーション検定試験を年1回主宰。英語と英語教育、日本文化に関して130冊を超える著作がある(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

とりあえず謝ってしまう日本の風土を「ロジカル」に戒める本です。

欧米・中国には「IF（もし〜ならば）」を用いて考えられるため、
複数のシナリオや未来を想定したり、先取りしたりしています。

日本では、ほとんど意識されないため、
　I'm sorry,「if」 I am wrong.
とせずに、とりあえず全面的に謝ってしまいます。なんとなく
まとまりますが、具体的解決に繋がることがないのは昨今の例を
出さずともご存知のところでしょう。

さて、「IF（もし〜ならば）」を用いて考えることは、因果関係
に基き考えることになるため、とても「ロジカル」です。空気に
流されることなんてありません。（といってもKYではない）

できる営業マンは、何を求めているか事前に調査して、ロジカルに
一気に落とすから多くを語る必要はありません。しかし、書籍は
誰の手に渡るか分からないためか、IF思考の重要性がロジカルに、
くどいほど説明されていますので、興味があれば一読ください。

著者が非常に英語能力に優れ、英語的考え方ができているんだなあということがわかる。
自分の理解力不足かもしれないが、本を読んでもあまり自分の身に「なるほど」と落ちてくる内容がなかったのは残念。
