森見登美彦氏が友人と竹を刈る本です。といっても意味が分からないと思いますが、本当にそう言う本です。
読み進むにつれてだんだん竹だけで話を進めるのが難しくなってきて、
どうオチをつけたらいいのか収拾に困っているようなフンイキがたちこめてきます。
彼独特の語り口によるおもしろさは本作も健在なので、上記のような脱線ぷりをも含めて
笑おうという心構えで読む分にはオススメできます（作者は「無益だけど楽しい文章」と言っています）。
けっこうおもしろかったです。

虚実空想入り混じった随筆作品。
サラッと読めて、クスッと笑えて、サパッと面白い。
けど、森見登美彦による森見ファンのための一冊って感じかなぁ。

ただ、登美彦氏が竹林を切る！というお話。
切ろうとするが、持ち前のヘナチョコ魂を発揮してなかなか上手くいかなかったり。
詭弁を弄して竹林と美女を結び付けてみたり。
妄想を交えて竹林経営の未来を語ってみたり。

まぁ、そんな感じの本です。面白いですよ。

しかし、森見作品の入り口にはしないほうがいいかも。
森見ワールド未体験の方は、先に『太陽の塔』か『夜は短し歩けよ乙女』を読むことをオススメします。

確かに私は、「きつねのはなし」のレビューで、「細かいことは考えずに思いっきり書いてください。」と書きました。しかし、・・・。「新釈 走れメロス 他四篇」は、発想の豊かさに驚きの連続でした。しかし、・・・。これは、・・・。この本は、・・・。エッセイとはいえあんまりです。DEEPなファンしかついていけないでしょう。置き去りにされた感、大です。読む人によって大きく評価が分かれる本だと思います。どうやって作品を作っているのか、参考になるところもありました。ですが、残念ながら、竹林に分け入ることは、かないませんでした。
