九篇の短編集であるが、どの作品にも共通する、不思議な感覚がある。
内容が著しく奇抜であり、当初は何の事か？と思わされるが、結局、描かれているものは、意識の欠落と要約出来る。
作品によっては、少々難解で、注意して読まなければ、最終的に、何を描こうとしているのかが、分かりにくいものもある。

戦後最大の鼓笛隊が襲来するから逃げる、
小学校の運動場の真ん中に家が建っている、
覆面をして出社しても良い事が、合法化された、

などという奇抜な内容で物語が始まる。
そして、読み進んでも、混乱は収束するどころか、増すばかりだ。

何故なら、我々の意識の中で、欠落している「負の部分」がテーマになっているからだ。
負の部分は、非常に意識しにくいので、本書のそれぞれの作品も、少々ポイントが掴みにくい。

ただ、だからこそ面白い。
奇抜な内容かつ、斬新なテーマの本書。

新感覚の短編集として、珠玉だ。

三崎さんの本をはじめて読みました。短編集ということもあってとても読みやすく、しかも、ひとつひとつの作品の完成度も高いと思いました。読み進むうちにどんどん具体的になっていく作品世界が気持ちよかった。

台風じゃなくて鼓笛隊、コンクリートじゃなくて本物のゾウのすべり台、二重人格じゃなくて覆面、引きこもりじゃなくて異次元への閉じこもり。よくしられたアイテムや状況をちょっとだけずらした発想がたまりません。すばらしい短編はすべてそうですが、作品世界を設定する感覚がすばらしい。

前提になっているのは、見えないものがあるということ（不可能性）でしょう。そして、それを見てしまう瞬間がある。つまり、不可能が可能になる瞬間がある。その瞬間の不気味さ、恐ろしさ、または感動。まったく異なる作品を書きながら、これは一貫しています。そこがまた、奇妙にやすらぐ原因なのかもしれません。一読の価値あり。

全部で９つの作品が収まったこの本は、私達の知覚とは一致せず混乱を生じさせる。
ただその混乱は不思議と不快なものではなく、その作品からの刺激を受け入れてしまえるのだ。
本物の象がいる公園など、仕事で遅くなった日には私も立ち寄って語り合いたいと思う。
個人的に一番印象に残ったのが、書き下ろし作品「同じ夜空を見上げて」だった。
世の中の客観的性質と相容れなくても、自分の心の中だけ納得したらいいのじゃないかと共感できたし、
聡史への区切りがついた解けた知恵の輪に
「星がとってもきれいだから、一人で見るのはもったいなくって」と、キイワードになるこの台詞の使い方が好きだ。
デビュー作「となり町戦争」より、私はこの本の方が面白く、かつ味わいも深い本だった。
