北森鴻さんの最新作。京都嵐山の山奥にある大悲閣の寺男にして引退した怪盗アルマジロもとえ有馬次郎が主人公。昔とった杵柄を生かして、なぜか降りかかってくる事件を、実は鋭い住職の助けも借りてばったばったと解決する。他の脇役として、みやこ新聞の女性記者折原けい、つい誰かを思い出してしまうボケミス作家ムンちゃんこと水森堅、京都府警の碇屋警部がとぼけたいい味を出しています。

６つの短編が収められていて、どれも北森鴻さんにはめずらしくコメディタッチの作品ですが、不条理なことに対する主人公の深く静かな怒り方はやはり北森節です。いきつけの寿司割烹十兵衛の料理の数々もいつもながら美味しそうで、ファンの期待を裏切りません。

全体のトーンとしては、「親不孝通りディテクティブ」をもう少しライトにした感じでしょうか。個人的には、最後の「居酒屋　十兵衛」がやるせなくて一番好きです。

北森鴻ファン、猫丸先輩シリーズファン、京都の好きな人たちへお勧めの一冊です。

「メインディッシュ」などにも通じる、軽妙でおいしそうな連作短編集です。元泥棒のアルマジロこと有馬次郎が探偵役で、新聞記者折原けいが狂言回し、大悲閣の住職が、陰の指南役というところか。毎回登場する十兵衛の料理が、彩りを添えます。

　内容的には小気味いいコージーミステリーだが、そこはこの作者のことだから、人情も添えてあります。途中から登場するバカミス作家水森の、厚かましい厚顔無恥ぶりも、笑いを誘う。

　北森鴻の蓮丈那智シリーズ、冬狐堂シリーズなどがお好きな方も、絶対に楽しめます。京都の四季とおいしそうな料理を味わいながら、ドタバタ喜劇に本格ミステリー的味わいも楽しめる、お買い得な作品ですよ。
