　本書はデート屋稼業をする晶生の３月から１２月までの日々が描かれる物語。デート屋稼業という珍しい稼業の主人公がどういった日々を送るのかと読みながら楽しめましたし、最後は１２月のクリスマスイブの様子が描かれていますが、それぞれのデート相手との関わりを通しての主人公の成長は読んでいてとても清々しかったです。

　｢女の子に優しくし励ます｣という才能だけを持つ晶生が始めた｢デート屋｣稼業を描いた連作短編集。

　ちょっとした悩みを持っていたり、踏み切れなかったりする女性の言葉を褒めちぎり、受け入れて、賞賛する。それで全部OKといった晶生の態度に3編目で正直食傷気味だったのですが、4編目のお話で晶生を否定する女性が登場。｢おっ！｣と思ったものの、結局晶生くんの成長物語の範囲を超えませんでした。ちょっと説教くさいですよ。
　つまらなくはないけど、予想できる範囲内。｢僕はこの仕事に一応、人生賭けてますから｣……って、本当？？

　他のレビュアーさんが書いていましたが、連作TVドラマの題材にはいいかもしれません。相手の女性のキャラクターを変えるだけで12回分くらい十分作れそうです。
