この夏に自転車に興味を持つようになってから、この著者の本を購入または図書館で借りています。いずれも読みやすい文章。読めば読むほど先が読みたくなる文章には感服させられます。内容は、著者のその他の本とはほぼ同じと思うので、まず入門編として読まれるには最適と思います。自転車が楽しかったなーという思い出のある人は、まず間違いなく引き付けられるでしょう。

最近、何か感じるものがあり自転車通勤をはじめました。その際、友人に薦められて読みましたが大変面白かったです。エッセイであったり時には読み応えのある短編小説風であったり、作者の疋田さんに共感するところ大でした。自転車通勤者　通学者の方に読んでもらいたい一冊です。

　地方勤務の頃、自転車通勤をしていました。電車＋徒歩で２０分の距離を自転車でも３０分。時間は多少かかりましたが、春は桜を見つつ、夏はひたすら暑く、秋冬の冷え込みを肌で感じながらの通勤はやはり爽快でした。飲み会の後の終電を気にしなくても済みましたし（←飲酒運転は自転車でも違反です）。首都圏勤務の場合、自転車通勤は一気に現実味を失いますが、例えば地下鉄部分を自転車にするというのはいかがでしょうか。

　本書は、日暮里から赤坂までを自転車で通勤している方が執筆しています。電車でも４０分の距離が自転車でも４０分そこそこなのだそうです。山手線内なら、下手をしたら地下鉄よりも早く移動できるかもしれません。

　当然、道を選ばないと、案外坂の多い東京ではしんどいばかりですが、暦で意識するよりも濃密に季節を感じる事ができると思います。寄り道も楽しいし、環境問題への意識も高まります。
