フリーライターの寺坂真以は、ファミレスを仕事場にしている。
そこで交わされる不思議な話の謎を、同じく常連のハルお婆ちゃんが解決し、真以にこっそり教えてくれる。

一つ一つの短編もテンポ良く面白く、全体のストーリーを通じて、真以が人として成長し、自分に自信を付けていくのも感じられる。
それもこれも、ハルお婆ちゃんの上品な人柄と豊かな人生経験に裏打ちされた言葉があるからこそ人の心に響くのだと思う。

最後に、ハルお婆ちゃんが真以に話しかけてきた理由が明らかになる。
その時の、ハルお婆ちゃんと真以のやりとりの場面は、真以の成長を感じる、“少しほろり”とする場面。

28歳のフリーライター真以は、
はやっていないファミレスを仕事場がわりにしていた。
そこの常連のかわいいお婆ちゃん、ハルさんは、
不思議な話を聞くと、たちどころに真相を教えてくれる名探偵で。。

日常の謎をとく、かわいいお婆ちゃん探偵ハルさんと
ハルさんを知っているレストランの人々や真以がつくりだす
どこかあたたかい雰囲気が魅力的な連作ミステリでした。
ひとつひとつの謎は日常の謎モノなのですが、
それをとくハルさんがとびっきりの「不思議」な存在です。
そしてラストで明かされる、ハルさんの秘密。
真以の恋。
短編としても、1冊の本としても楽しめる本でした。

心地よい文章だった。静かにおだやかな時間が流れる。
はでな事件はおきないけれど、でも、ああなるほど・・と思えるような展開で、事件は解決してゆく。こんなレストランがあったら、自分もゆっくり午後のお茶を楽しみにいきたい・・と思えるような・・
