表紙のインパクトどおりに、なんとも活字の魔術師、
文体を弄ぶクラウンとでも評したくなるような、
文字通りの『実験小説』ですね。
…写植さんがさぞかし難色を示したのでは、と推測（ｗ；

ただ…どうもほとんどの収録作のオチとしてヌルつくかのような死の描写が付いてまわるのが
どうしても気になります。
「意外なオチ」を目指した時、案外「死」というのは扱いやすいものなのですよ。
…そのぶん、よほどの手腕がなければ読み手を不快にさせてしまいがちですが。
惜しむらくはこの方の場合も、ショートショートの神様・星新一氏のような、
死すらもさらりと読ませてしまう「透明な文章」の域までは達していない事ですね…。

しかし唯一、「カヴス・カヴス」には感服。
類を見ない、見事な文章構築を見せる奇怪にして秀逸な作品かと。
他の収録作だけなら奇異ではあるものの★３というところですが、
この一作に敬意を表して★４で。

実験小説という題名の通り、小説の新たな可能性を探るための本だと思います。

普通の小説なら、短編であっても文字を追っている間に退屈に感じる箇所もあるでしょうが、この本はそれがありません。読者は常に著者に裏切られ、翻弄されます。かといって、よくある「不思議系小説」とも一線を画しています。

読書生活に新しい刺激がほしい方に超オススメです！
