推理小説とも、ＳＦともつかない奇妙な作品ですが、とっても面白い傑作です。
とにかく発想が物凄い。読者の想像を遥かに越えて物語が展開していきます。
登場人物の乱歩や竜馬をはじめ、彼らをとりまく人々が史実に基づいて描かれ
ているだけに、リアリティーがあります。
そしてクライマックスに現れる「ある人物」・・・。これには脱帽しました。

どこまでが真実なのか、フィクションとノンフィクションのはざまをきわどく
いくストーリー展開に、何がなんだかわからなくなってしまいます。
それでいて読後には、ある種の爽快感が。
決して読んで損はありません！

5.0 out of 5 stars 『うつし世はゆめ よるの夢こそまこと』が実体となる幻想小説 , 2008/8/8
江戸川乱歩の二面性と、乱歩作品最高の超有名名探偵キャラクター明智小五郎&小林少年の誕生の謎に迫った幻想ミステリー小説。
現代を生きる人物達の織り成すストーリーと、過去の人物達が織り成すストーリーが幻惑的に交差し、一本の線になって繋がってゆくのが見事。
しかも江戸川乱歩の創作にはほとんど関係の無さそうな戦国時代のあの人物や、幕末のあの人物、あの事件が すごい信憑性、説得力を持って絡んでくるのですから、
これはもうゾクゾクッと来て、グイグイ話に引き込まれます。
カバー画もミステリアスで良いんですよね〜
一度読んで謎解きも結末も全部わかってるのに、気がつくと何度でも読み返してしまう・・・
そのくらいお気に入りの一冊です。
講談社版の貼雑年譜は持ってますが、この本を読むと、
なぜか東京創元社版の貼雑年譜が欲しくなります(いや、高額過ぎて買えませんけどね)
