さすがに直木賞を受賞したという作品で、シリ-ズ中最も長いと思われる分量を飽きさせずに最後まで読ませてしまいます。

この作品に登場する地方財閥の分家兄弟、晶の元バンド仲間の背負った悲しいコンプレックスが心に残り、すべてを平らげようとする暴力組織に社会の裏側の壮絶さを感じた。

志を半ばにステ-ジから降りること、本家のプレッシャ-にアイデンティティ−を発揮できないもの、それぞれの悲しい結末には胸を打たれるものがあった

正直ページをめくるのがいやでした。
だって、めくればめくるほど、新宿鮫の世界が終わりに近づいて行く。
覚せい剤の怖さ、暴力組織の怖さをえがき、主題は人間の業の深さなのかな。


とにかく納得の一冊でした。

万年初版作家と呼ばれていた作者が、直木賞を受賞した作品。

前作「屍蘭」がどちらかというとアクション控えめ、心理戦に近い事件だったのに対してなのだろうか、「無間人形」はヤクザはでてくるわ覚せい剤は乱れ飛ぶわと、アクション色が強い作品。

ちょうど「暴力団新法」が施行された時期に書かれたということも大きな影響か。

新法のおかげでどこの暴力団も資金難。そんな折、「アイスキャンディ」と呼ばれる新しいドラッグが若者を中心に出回っていることを、鮫島はつかむ。
そのアイスキャンディの売買の瞬間を押さえることからキャンディ絡みの今回のストーリーが始まる。
キャンディの製造元はどこか。販売ルートは？
ある地方都市を牛耳る兄弟の狙いは？
そしてアルバム発表を受けて地方ツアーに旅立った恋人・晶の旅は？

お互い屈折してしまった兄弟のお互いへの愛情が悲しくうつる。

直木賞も納得の筆のノリ。
