待望久しい新宿鮫シリーズ。
単行本はどうも身構えてしまうし、文庫版までは待てないので、カッパノベルスになるのを、首を長くして待っていた。

読後、なんというかな。悲しい思いが先に立った。
シリーズものには当然、主人公以外に、回りを固めるおきまりの脇役から、大事な敵役。そんな人たちが、各巻を別の話にしながらもどこか一つ流れを作っている。
だから、イヤなヤツでも、何とはなく愛着がわいてくる。
本作品では、そういった敵役に、別の展開が現れる。
それらは、そう、やがて悲しき流れになって。
新宿鮫のいいところは、どこか漂うペーソスというか、何とも言えないやりきれなさ、哀愁がある。

終盤のまとめ方がちょっとせっつきすぎな気がするし、晶がほぼ全く現れなかった事など不満が残る。
とはいえ、やはり新宿鮫。やはりまたすぐ会いたくなるんだなぁ。コレが。

ハードカバーが嫌いなので、２年も我慢してやっと先ほど読み終えましたが、
１０００円は高くなかったです。一挙にノンストップに　ハマれました。
前前作の「風化水脈」は読んだあと、即ゴミ箱へほうりこんでしまうほど
失望し、正直あまり期待はしてなかっただけに、かなり満足です。

久々の新宿鮫の新作･･･と喜んで購入したのだが、2/5ほど読み進むうちに新作でないことに気がついた。
これは、数年前にハードカバーで発売したものの新書版である。
それにしても、しばらく読まないと既読であることに気付かないとは！！
それくらい、近年の新宿鮫シリーズは似た様な作風になってしまっている。
要するに、麻薬、暴力団、外国人犯罪者、この３者のオンパレードである。
２作目毒猿や３作目屍蘭のような魅力的な適役、個性的な悪役は登場しないものか･･･
上記２作品が良かったのでこのシリーズを読み続けているが、もう見放すつもりになった。

ただ、最後の決着の付け方は少し強引過ぎた感あり。もう少し流れに乗せながら最後の中華街のシーンへ持っていきたかった。
