　2004-07年に『ジャーロ』などに掲載された６つの短篇を集めたもの。
　副題にホロスコープとあるとおり、牡羊座「ギリシャ羊の問題」から始めて、牡牛座「六人の女王の問題」、双子座「ゼウスの息子たち」とつづいていく。本書には、乙女座「冥府に囚われた娘」までの半年分が収められている。しかし、最初から企画ものにしようと考えていたわけではなく、途中から星座の話と絡めていったらしい。本にするに当たって書き直された部分もかなりあるとか。
　クイーンの『犯罪カレンダー』が原型であり、かなり真似られている部分も多い。初めに蘊蓄が述べられたり、いきなりシナリオ形式が挿入される一篇があったり。読み比べてみると面白いだろう。
　面白かったのは「ゼウスの息子たち」「冥府に囚われた娘」。論理性を突き詰めていった先に意外な結末が待ち受けており、納得するとともに驚かされた。
　全体としてパズル的な作品が多い。図をつくりながら読んだりすると面白いかも知れない。

法月綸太郎と言えば、いわゆる「後期クイーン問題」にドップリはまった、悩める秀才作家のイメージが強い。
しかし今回は、クイーンで言えば『犯罪カレンダー』を意識した短編集であり、作者の発想の妙あるいは稚気を、気軽に楽しめる好著に仕上がった。
余り悩みこまず、続編を早めに読ませてくださいと、著者にお願いしたくなる。

むむぅ。面白い。
ついつい、読んでしまった。
星座とギリシャ神話と犯罪を絡めた、短編作品集なので読みやすい。星座の勉強にもなる。
表題になっている『六人の女王の問題』も面白いが、個人的には『冥府に囚われた娘』がお気に入りである。
