ミステリなのですがほのぼのとした雰囲気がよいです．

夏の小さな島で起きるちょっとした騒動からはじまり，
だんだんと大きな事件へと結びついていくのですが，
その割に緊張感というかものものしい様子はありません．

島に住む主人公や住人たちもあれやこれやと騒ぐのですが，
事件に直接関係するような探偵ごっこなどをすることはなく，
ごくごくあたりまえの日常的な島での生活を読んでいるようです．

また，もういっぽうの主役である猫たちがいい味を出しています．
ふてぶてしくもあり，それでいてなんとも言えぬ愛嬌があったりして，
猫好きでなくても「むふふ」と微笑んでしまいそうになります．

が，ミステリとしては少し弱いように思います．
ほのぼのとのバランスが難しいとは思うのですが，
強引というか無理やりな人物の設定がいくつかあって．

それでも島の人や猫たち，そして表紙絵などに和まされ，
のんびりと気持ちよく読むことができるのではと思います．
できれば休日にとおして読むことをおすすめしたいです．

私は今までミステリは人が死んだりというイメージが強く、どことなくグロいシーンが多そうと思っていましたがこの猫島ハウスの騒動はミステリっぽくなく、人が死んでも登場人物のおおらかさが作品をほんわりさせていたように思います。ミステリ好きには、物足りないかもしれないけど、初心者には、丁度良いです☆
