読書という行為の魅力を余すところ無く語った一冊。
かなりおもしろいです。
本が好きな人はぜひ読んでみてください。

個人的に読書についての考え方が似てるだけなのかもしれませんが、「そうそう、そうなんだよね〜」と共感できるところがたくさんありました。
本好き同士で読書の楽しさを語り合っている感じ、というのでしょうか。
特に何かを主張したり提案したりする本ではないのですが、ひとつひとつのエピソードや発想が本好きの心をくすぐります。

一番素敵だったのは

「読書に費やしたこれまでの膨大な時間を、もっと別の有意義なものに置き換えられなかったのか。そんなふうに悔やんだことは一度もない。一度もない、といま気づいたことに驚いている。ほんとうに、一度もないのだ。そうして生きてきたのだ。だから、明日からも同じように生きていく。」

という”悟り”の部分。

すばらしい。
読書人の鑑です☆

岡崎氏の著書を初めて読んだが、中々良かった。このため、結構なボリュームながら、軽快な語り口のような文章で一気に完読させられた。
特に面白かったのは、ベストセラーについて、とブックオフの攻略法の章である。岡崎氏によると、ベストセラーは話題を買う意味はあるが、本当に楽しむのであれば10〜20年後に読むことだそうだ。なるほど確かに最近のベストセラーは読むに値しないものも多いので時代考察という意味でベストセラーを読むのは面白いかもしれないと思った次第。
ブックオフについては、「ブ」と略して語られるが、この攻略法等（店員にたいした知識がなくジャンル分けが頼りない等）についても、ブックオフ巡りを「パトロール」と称するほどの古本通の著者の考えだけに面白い。
巻末には他の「読書本」同様にお薦めの本が並んでいるが、詩集のお薦め作品も書いているのは珍しい。
読書が好きな方はかなりの部分に共感できる名書。ただ、ほんの少しであるが誤字が気になった。

作者が、もうとにかく読書好きであることがよくわかります。
様々な、著書を引用して、その言葉の紡ぎかたのすばらしさを解説して
くれます。自分には、解説されても、まだすばらしさが理解できない部分もなり
自分は全然、底の浅い読書なのだと思い知らされます。

本を読むために、旅に出るという、通常、本末転倒と思われる作者の発想も
読書好きには、強く共感できるのではないでしょうか？
私は共感しました。

著者の読書傾向は圧倒的に文学作品なので、「読書」という二文字が表わす言葉が
常に文学作品の読書だけではないことを考えると、この本がマッチしない人も
いるかもしれません。

自分は、実用書が好きなので、深くマッチはしないのですが、こういう世界も
あるんだ。読書は幅の広い奥深い世界だと知れて、とても感慨深いものがありました。
