問題数は少ないが一問ごとの解説がかなり詳しい。しかし初級者にはあまり向かない。一通り英文法を学習した人が読んで、「なるほど」と思えるものである。暗記だけでは苦痛だという人には絶対お勧め。「下巻」の方にはマニアックな索引が付いている。
欠点としては、解説文に難解な部分があるので、英語の参考書なのに日本語の読解に苦労する（ここが初級者向けでない理由）。なので眠いときに読んでも全く頭に入ってこない。章立てが特殊なので最初とまどう（これは、慣れれば長所ともなるが）
国語力に自信のない人には、例題→解説の同じ形式でポイントをより簡潔にした「英文法・語法のトレーニング戦略編」（Ｚ会）がお勧め。

自分はいま現役高3ですがこの本を知ったのは夏休みでした。ビジュアル英文解釈をやっていて伊藤先生の考えに付いていこうと思ったのと、もっと英文法を補強する必要を感じたからですが、この本はそれ以上の物を与えてくれました。今まで自分は英語長文を読むとき、わからないところはなんとなくなぞるように読んでいたことに気づきました。この本こそ「英文解釈・英作文に役立つ英文法」、もちろん文法問題で得点できる英文法を授けてくれる本です。見た目も気に入ってます。退屈な暗記ばかり、そういう本ではないのであまり飽きることもなく、量は多いが最後までやりぬくことができると思います。やりぬくと世界が違う！！

これは間違いなく成績はあがる。すごいの一言。買って損無し。各単元が細かく区切られているのでこつこつやれる。解説はかなり詳しく、必要なことが網羅されている。
これが終わり次第、「新・英文法頻出問題演習」をやれば文法に敵無し・・・。
