個別指導の塾講師をしており、
高校生の「なぜ？」に答えきるには
一通りの文法書で解決できないのが『冠詞』です。
というわけで、『冠詞』関係の参考書をいくつか買いましたが、
この『英語の冠詞がわかる本』が一番よかったと思います。
まあ、ネイティブの人々の実際は
あまり、『なぜtheで、a ではないのか』なんて考えないで
「だって、theなんだもん」ぐらいの乗りで使っているらしいですが。

でも、きちんとした日本語が話せる人が助詞を極めているように、
英語では前置詞と冠詞でその人の教養が測れるそうです。
「話せる英語」より「正しい英語」を優先させる方におすすめです。

決して初級者向けではありませんが、冠詞それぞれの微妙な違いや使い方が、分かりやすく説明されています。例文も少し難しいものが含まれていますが、一筋縄にはいかない、場面ごとでの冠詞のニュアンスを紹介するがゆえのことでしょう。真剣に英語に取り組んでいる方、翻訳などに携わる方には貴重な一冊です。

あんまり売れそうな外見でもないが、読んでみると非常に良心的な説明振りで筆者に好感が持てる。

冠詞を深く知りたいと言う人はある程度の英語の実力を持つ人だとおもうが、そういった人たちの欲求にも応えてくれると思う。

読み進めるうちに何度も目から鱗が落ちた。

冠詞がいまいち分からないと言う人には一読をお勧めする。
