　本書は、分析哲学の手法を用いているとか、私って比類なくてすばらしいんだとかいう感傷的なことが書かれているのでは全くない。そういう勘違いから本書にあたると誤読する。
　永井が述べていることは、＜私＞というのが、「人間」でも「物質」でもなく、その類を持たないところの唯一の存在であり、というより「存在」というのが唯一許される存在であること、＜私＞というのがこの世界で１つだけの特異な（einzigな）存在であることである。私だけが世界からはみ出す。それゆえに、私だけがこの世界であり、この世界の「すべてのすべて」（シュティルナー）であるということであり、世界は私の世界であり同時に私の世界は世界（一般）である。他者とは私と並び立つものがない別の「無限」距離はなれた宇宙であると永井は述べているが、本当はそれどころでもない。
　自分の言わんとすることが理解されないのでなければならないという態度を永井が貫徹していることを注意しておく。これは浅い意味では、本書に感傷や共感を求める者をはねつける態度であり、深い意味では、原理上・事実上永井の論述が永井と無限距離はなれた理解で読まれねばならないということである。　
　私のレビューの意味がわからない人は、本書を読まないほうがいい。永井の言わんとすることはもっとわかりにくいからである。
　文章は読みにくくて仕方ない。永井は、語りにくいことを何とか語りにもたらそうとするがゆえに悪文を書くのではおそらくなく、なるべく少ない言葉で述べようとするためであろうが、舌足らずでついていけない文章を書く。これを何とかしてほしい。
　とはいえ、永井はニーチェ関係ではわかりやすい解説を、ウィトゲンシュタイン関係では読みにくい文章を書くようである。
　永井と似たようなことを述べながら遥かに読みやすい文章を書く入不仁基義の『相対主義の極北』という名著をあわせて読まれると参考になる。

〈私〉（言うまでもなく永井のいう〈私〉は、われわれが普段使う「私」とは峻別されなければならない）とは「すべて」であり、そして文字通り「すべて」であるからこそ、他者という「もうひとつのすべて」の発見の可能性がひらかれる、ということが述べられているように思います。著者の「主張」はある意味「当然」のことですが、それだけに驚かされました。

誰もが生きている〈私〉は、比類のないユニークな存在であるということは今更いうまでもないはずであるが、無差別殺人の横行などという実体を考えてみると、すべてのひとがそれを実感しているとはいえないのが現実だといえるだろう。この本は〈私〉という存在がかけがえのないものであることを分析哲学的アプローチから再検討。まさに現代社会において必須の哲学だといえるだろう。
