医療従事者の教育は、人体の構造と機能および疾病の成り立ちについて広く行われている。とくに診療放射線技師は画像検査に従事するために、画像の形成要因の解析が重要視されている。しかし、各種検査画像の読影についての適当な図書がなく、早くから出版が望まれていたが、今回関係者の皆さんのご協力により実現した。本書はすべて設問形式で成り立っているが、問題の作成においては、画像から人体の構造と機能および疾病の成り立ち、疾病画像の形成要因、ならびに検査技術学を理解していただくために、あえて無理な設問も設定している。学校教育では学問の縦系列の構成が多いが、座標軸を画像を中心にして部位や疾患画像をとらえ横系列を組んでいる。本書により、問題の内容にとらわれず画像の意味するものを広く理解し、パターン認識を育成していただきたい。また、人体の内部構造の理解にはCT・MR像が適切と考え、この部分に多くの枚数を当てた。
