筆者が実際関わった薬の開発の経緯や苦労がよく伝わってくる本です。ニコランジルができるまでの話は迫力があります。いかに偶然が結果を左右するかということをおしえてくれます。また筆者のメッセージがよく伝わってきます。

製薬会社などへ就職を考えている人にはオススメの本だと思います。著者は、大手製薬会社に研究員として入社し、その後、自分で見つけてきた化合物の開発にかかわってこられた方です。会社での創薬研究はどういうものなのか、そのイメージが大雑把ながらも少し分かったような気がします。製薬会社の研究員が、自伝のような形で書いた本というのはあまり無いような気がするので、貴重な本だと思います。
