きれいなイラストと具体的な例を用いた解説がとても分かりやすく、面白い。

既習者の目にどう映るのかは分かりませんが、まったくの素人の私にこれだけ分かりやすいのは、本当によくまとめられているからなのだと思います。

時間の流れが変わったり、空間が歪んだり、質量が増えたり、不思議なことだらけですが、 素朴な疑問にもよく答えてくれており、とても楽しく勉強することができました。数学が苦手な人が、数式を見ないで相対性理論のエッセンスだけを理解しようと思ったら、最適の本だと思います。

この雑誌は、科学に興味のある人は、是非とも買って読んでほしいと思う。中には少し難しい内容の所もあるけど、その分図で分かりやすく説明されるので、とても面白い。価格も少し高いと思うかもしれないが、買っても損はないと思う。

　読んでいて面白そうだと思ったのが、「質量をもつ物体は、周囲の空間を曲げてしまう」という（今や常識の？）理論。アインショタイン本人の理論を全く知らないまま解説内容を信じるのは危険だが、原理論を理解できるはずはなさそうなので、とりあえずは解説内容を信用することにする。誰にでも分かるようにとのことで、不適切な言葉遣いもあるように思うが、正確さよりイメージを共有することを重視しているのだろう。更に続けると、「重力とは、質量が周囲の空間を曲げることによって引き起こされる力」とのこと。
　ということは、人間やモノがそこにいる（ある）だけで、周囲の空間に歪みを生じさせるということになる。わかったようなわからないような話だが、経験的には納得できるようにも思う。人間は他者の侵入を拒否する（不快に思う）自分の領域を持っており、お互いに絶妙な距離感（間合い）を保ちつつ共存しているのだと思う。それは地域や時代によって異なるのはもちろん、各個人によっても異なり、どちらかというと精神的なものだと思いこんでいたが、実は100年以上前に科学的に証明されていたことになる。
