　あまりにも過酷で、つらいことが書いてあるので続けて読むことが出来なかった。でも、平和な日本で生きている人間として知らなきゃいけないことだと思った。ニュースで伝えられる世界中の紛争や殺し合いは数が多すぎて、そこで苦しんでいる人がいることを実感することが出来ない。この本にはその犠牲となった人々が固有名詞で出てくる。私はこれを読んで、地雷がいかにひどいものかが本当によくわかった。このままここで安楽に暮らしてしまっていいのだろうか、何かしなければいけないのではないか、という焦燥感にとらわれたりもした。地雷が世界中から撤去されることを願ってやまない。
