久米 英美子
ネットショップ「メモリープレイス」代表。米国、カリフォルニア州在住。カリフォルニア州立大学サンノゼ校卒。会計学専攻。シリコンバレーのハイテク企業に会計士として働いていた7年前、娘の写真の整理にとスクラップブッキングを始め、その魅力に開眼。以来あちこちのコンベンション、ワークショップはもちろん、スクラップブッキングの専門店経営者の会や講師の会などに、積極的に参加して情報収集、研究に励んでいる。日本にもクロップ仲間を増やそうと、2002年、ネットにスクラップブッキングの専門店「メモリープレイス」を開設、道具や材料だけでなく最新情報も提供している。2003年11月には会計士の仕事を辞め、ついに「メモリープレイス」を本業にした。毎年1、2回のペースで日本に来て、スクラップブッキングのイベント・講習会を開催している(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

スクラップブッキングをするにはこの本しか他にありません。

「大好き!スクラップブッキング」には様々なアイデアが満載、レイアウトだけのハウトゥー本ではありません。「Baby」「こども」「結婚式」「学校」「ペット」等々テーマ別にもページがあります。アメリカでの作者のストーリーも読み物としての魅力がたっぷり。ゲストアーティストのスタンプ、カリグラフィー、グラフィックアートも見逃せません。

今までの輸入本ではアルバムレイアウトが気に入って参考に作りたくても材料が入手困難で無理がありましたが、こちらの本で使われている材料・道具は国内クラフトショップ、あるいは作者のショップで買えるのが助かります、初めて耳にするスクラップブッキング用語・用法もやさしく説明がされており直ぐに始める事ができるでしょう！スクラッパーの日本語バイブルに称えられる１冊です。

スクラップブッキングについてのアメリカの雑誌や本はここで入手できますので、英語が苦手な私は写真や絵を見て、真似して作っていました。日本語で本場アメリカ在住のエミーさんが、この本を出してくださった事により、どうしてアメリカでブレイクしているのか、どんなものを使って作ればいいのか、基本のこと、大事だけど私が余り理解できていなかった事が、すっきり、はっきり解りました。ただ残念な事は、書店では、この本には素敵な帯が付いていたのに、このアマゾンの写真でははずされていて、別の本のような気がしてしまいます。この本の場合は帯もつけた写真の方がいいと思いました。

最初にスクラップブッキングに興味があって始めてみたくても細かい作り方などはよくわかりませんでした。みようみまねで作り始めて、インターネットで検索していろんな方が作ったアルバムも見たりしてみました、やっぱりどうやって作ったのかがとっても気になっていました。

この本を読んでみると、私の中にあったいろんな疑問がすっきり晴れるような作り方の説明、材料について、アメリカのスクラップブッキング事情など知りたい~！と思うことが全部といってもいいほど書いてありました。ページが進むごとに、こんな風に作ってみたいという気持ちが自分の中に生まれてきて、今では手放せない辞書のような本です。

スクラップブッキングに興味がある方はまず読んでみてください！
