読みやすい文体で書かれているため、数時間で読破できた。

しかし、内容が薄いということを言っているわけではなく、主張している内容は、英語上達には近道はなく、継続力が大切、inputが特に初学者にとっては大切だということ等、納得できる内容が書かれている。またその内容は、多くの信頼できる英語上達法といった類の本と規を一にしている。


筆者のように、海外に長くいたわけではない、また、英語を専門として大学時代をすごしたわけではないという人がどのように英語を学習してきたのかを知ることは、これから特に独学で英語を学ぼうとしている人にとっては重要なことだと思う。

小手先のテクニックを身につけるのではなく、まともに英語力を身につけたい
という人が読めば、大いに励みになるだろう。

たしか英語のやり直しを考えていたころにいろいろwebを検索していて
この本の著者のHPに行き着いたのだが、とても勇気付けられた。

後日、たまたま書店でこの本を見つけ「どこかで見たような？」と思い手に取り、購入。
HPの内容を加筆修正したものだった気がしたが改めて励みになった。

現在では私自身も目標のTOEIC900越えを達成できた。
（もちろんこの本の100%すべてを参考にしたわけではないし、
自分なりにいろいろ試行錯誤した結果ではあるが）

タイトル通り、‘身につく技術’が書いてあります。英語を確実に身につけることはなかなか難しいことだと思います。
この本を読めば英語が身につくというものではなく、ワザや方法を教えてくれています。やる気がでない時やどうもうまくいかないときなど、角度をかえて取り組むことができると思います。
