何だか、レイプ事件などのことばかりで内容が偏っていると思います。犯罪からの対象方法なども紹介されていましたが、私にはピンとこないものばかりでした。作者の自慢話もチラホラと見え隠れ・・・。全体を通した感想は、「んっ？」という感じ・・・。人によってだと思いますので、気になる方は一度読んでみるのもいいですが、買うほどのないようではないような気がします。

本書は筆者が実務の中から見出した知見が豊富に書き出されており、一見の価値がある。ただし、「治安悪化」の言説に対しては、社会学等の学術研究者からアンチテーゼが提示されており、一概に「治安が悪化している」とは言い切れないのが現状であるため、筆者の主張にはやや客観性を欠く印象がある。加えて、犯罪被害に遭いそうになったときの対処法などについて、素人にはまねできないものを紹介している感もある。「防犯」や「安全」に対する関心が高まっているご時世だからとはいえ、やや論理が飛躍してはいないだろうか。

5.0 out of 5 stars 統計は意図的に出される。卓越した警察司法改革案に驚き！, 2006/9/11
統計はまとめる側が意図的にデータを作ることは周知の事実。
たとえば、検挙率をあげるためだったり、
検事が負ける事件は
「喰わない」ことであったり。
社会学のデータをもって、
現在は、一概に凶悪社会化はしていないというのは、
時代感覚の欠如といわざるええないであろう。
本書は、その凶悪犯罪にたいしていったいなぜこのような社会に
なってしまったのか、また個人でできる犯罪対策の一例があるが、
白眉であるのは、
著者の警察、司法改造案であろう。
エンターテインメントに特化した警察本が多い著者なので、
本書は、氏のマジな社会への提言に触れることのできる
貴重な一冊である。
なぜ、加害者がいつも有利な判決を受けるのか、
これを、司法業界の構造問題から解いてゆくくだりは、
あー、なるほどと目からうろこであった。
