アメリカで映画化になっているのをテレビで見て、興味を持ち読んでみました。内容的には「現代判プリンセスストーリー」ではあるけれども、主人公Miaのなんともteenagerらしい行動と発言は、英語が上級レベルでない私でもかなり笑えるものがあり、ホント電車で笑いそうになることが多々ありました。（いや、笑っちゃいましたね・・）
実際の映画も楽しみですが、続編も出ているみたいなのでそちらも読んでみたいと思います。

お城でのプリンセスの生活。そんな内容を想像しますか？
でも普通の女子高生ミアの生活が日記の中にみえてくる。普通の生活って？ミアは自分の事を少し変わっていると思っているし　友達や周囲の人も個性的。

高校の授業中　日記を書いたりしているので　まるで　アメリカの高校生活の実況中継みたいで笑えます。文章も友達に語りかけるような感じ。ミアといっしょに高校生活をバーチャル体験できます。そしてある日　自分はプリンセスだと判明。
　どうなる？ミア？マスコミが押しかけ　友達との関係も変化してゆく。

ミアは普通じゃなくなるの？ミアはプリンセスで良かったの？
　英語の原書の方もお勧めです。続編もあります。

地味で目立たないミアがある日自分がヨーロッパにある小さな国、ジェノヴィアのプリンセスであることがお父さんから教えられます。そしてプリンセスになるためのレッスンを受けながらなんとか学校の人にバレないように努力します。そんなミアの日常の生活、物事に対する考え方やいろんなことが日記風に書かれています。なのでとても読みやすいです。それにとてもおもしろいので一気に読めてしまいます。私も映画は見たんですけど、改めて原作を読むと、やっぱり原作の方がおもしろいと思います。なので映画を見ておもしろいと思った方もぜひ読んでみてください。映画と一味違って楽しめると思います。私もそうでした。
