芥川賞受賞作品を読む前にと思い読んでみました。長編と思って読んでいたら短編でした。3点収録されていて、その全てに居そうでで居ないのではなくて、居なさそうで必ず居る「かすけた家族」が登場します。その家族の一片は誰の家族にも重なるところがあるのではと感じる作品でした。

3編とも「親」を馬鹿にして育った30前後の人たちの物語です。

生活水準が低く、下流に位置づけられる環境で育ち、
尊敬できない親を持った人間はこんな大人になるという見本を
見せられてるようなかんじ。

でもこんな風に育った彼らをかわいそうとか、
軽蔑するとかはまったく思えなくて、
むしろちょっとだけ共感すら覚える。
家族ってどんなに嫌っても、絶対他人にはなれないもの。
その血と絆の果てしなさを考えると、
「ドライブイン蒲生」の姉があんなに嫌っていた父の死後に
父のように刺青を入れるエピソードなんて悲しいほどでした。

育ちというものは無意識であっても
ずっと付きまとうものなのでしょうか・・・。

短編３作に1つずつ、気になるワードがでてきた。
「かすけた」「無花果」「リュウグウノツカイ」。

「かすけた」なんてイマドキ言わないでしょう。
それがすごく新鮮で。気に入った。
「無花果」は、丁度これを読んだ頃、桃井かおりさんの映画とかが公開されていて、
不思議なこの果実に興味をもっていた。無花果の花って、見えないんだね。
「リュウグウノツカイ」は、以前ちょっとハマっていた時期があったので、
冒頭でかなり惹きつけられた。
ほとんど生態が明らかになっていないこの魚の登場で、
物語まで神秘的に。

わたしには分からない世界ばかりが描かれていたけれど、
登場する人物の考え方になぜか親近感が沸いてきて、
最後までよんでしまった。

たかみさんって、女の人かとおもってたら、違うんだね。。
