　回転寿司の店の見分け方や店内での客としてのお作法など、お寿司をさらに美味しくお得に楽しむための様々なコツを、楽しくまじめに解説した本です。
　著者のプロフィールは奥付に「乱文系モノ書き」とやや自嘲気味に紹介されていますが、その筆致は至ってまじめ。文章は平易で明快ですし、決してやっつけ仕事的な印象は与えず、大変好感がもてます。

　私自身はかれこれ10年ほど回転寿司のお世話になっていますが、初めて店に入るまではその利用法がうかがい知れず、何度も二の足を踏んでいました。それが職場の同僚に誘われて初めて足を踏み入れ、以来すっかり病みつきになったのです。

　本書はかつての私のような回転寿司の初心者に基本的マナーを伝授する指南書というだけでなく、場数を踏んだ経験者にも役立つ裏事情が満載です。
　流れてくるネタがひょっとして乾いている可能性がある場合、「ワサビ抜きで」と板さんに注文して握りたてを受け取り、ワサビは備え付けのものを自分でこっそりつけるといった裏技や、「味の薄いものから濃いものへ」と食すのがツウの順番であるといった知識は、ぜひ次回実践してみたいものです。

　あら汁をメニューに載せている店は魚を丸ごと仕入れて自前でさばいていることの証拠だという情報も、言われてみれば確かにそうですが、意外と気がつかない事です。

　ただし、店内でもっともお得な席について解説した箇所がありますが、今や回転寿司は大人気、混雑時が多くてなかなかこの通りの席を確保することは出来ないでしょう。

　本書は、一度手にとった皿をレーンに平気で戻すオバちゃん客のみならず、来客数に見合わない数の寿司を握ってレーン上で乾燥させてしまうような不手際を続ける板さんたちにも是非読んでもらいたい一冊です。

　本書は「店選びの掟」「食前の掟」「食事中の掟」「食後の掟」「ネタの掟」と、回転寿司全般についてを取り上げたもの。乾いたお寿司はどこへ、何時に行くのが一番お得かなどのウンチクから、知られざるマナーやコツの数々を教えてくれる回転寿司本です。これまで回転寿司に関する本は出ていなかったのが不思議でもありましたが、ウンチク話は面白かったですし、情報源としても役立つものが多かったです。
