「退屈な日常」を僕らが過ごす毎日。だけど、小さすぎて拾えないミクロな言葉に気づく佐藤伸治の世界に僕らは吸い込まれていく。とってもそれは気持ち良くて。詩集には佐藤伸治の世界が、僕らの気づかない僕らの世界が今にも溢れんばかりに注ぎこまれている。しかし、もうその詩集から佐藤伸治の言葉が溢れる事は無くなってしまった。だから今度は僕らの出番だ。手探りながらもミクロな言葉に気づけるような人になろう。これを読むとこんな気持ちになってしまう。詩がFishmansの音に乗ると、もう僕らには止めれない。毎日毎晩部屋でFishmansが流れは始めるとすごく幸せな気分になって、すごく楽しくなって、すごく悲しくなって・・・ありがとうFishmans。

フィッシュマンズの曲をききながらぜひ読んで欲しい一冊。佐藤伸治の言葉に小さな幸せを見つけることまちがいなし。こころがあったかくなるようなフレーズにひさしぶりに涙した。退屈な毎日の些細な出来事に目をむけられる彼の視点がすきでした。

申し訳ないが、私はフィッシュマンズのアルバムを「オレンジ」からしか持っていない。だから「ネオ・ヤンキーズ・ホリデイ」以前の歌詞は「詩」として読んだ。
結果として、メロディーを知っている詞に関しては、頭の中で歌いながら二重に感動できるし、メロディーを知らない詞に関しては「これにどんなメロディーがつくんだろう」と想像が膨らんでこれまた二重に楽しめた。
それもひとえに、佐藤氏の歌詞が「詩」としても優れているからだろう。
正直、フィッシュマンズというと、独特の音世界が特に語られがちな気がするが、私にとっての彼らの魅力は、誰でもわかる平易な言葉だけでこれほど深くて心に突き刺さって取れない詞を紡ぎ出せたこと、それを誰でも口ずさめる人なつっこく美しいメロディーに乗せて歌ったこと、それも佐藤氏がひとことひとこと丁寧に歌ったこと、なんだなあと、この本と出会って再確認した。
すぐにでも残りのアルバムを全部手に入れようと心に誓った次第。
フィッシュマンズにちょっとでも興味がある方なら絶対に触れてほしい詩集である。
