妖しいまでに美しいオールド・ヴァイオリンの色。歴史の年輪を感じるこれらの写真を眺めているだけで思わず引き込まれてしまう。数多くのヴァイオリンの取引を経験した筆者だけに解説も充実しており、写真集だけでなく読み物としても面白い。

イタリアの製作者、総勢２７人の作品と詳細が分かりやすく記載されています。その他にもバイオリンに関する
豆知識が書かれており、バイオリンに詳しくなくても興味があれば楽しく読めるような内容になっています。
ただ途中１９人目からカラーではなく白黒写真で記載されてますのでニスの色が分からなくなります。
良い楽器ばかりなので、その点非常にもったいないと感じました。オールカラーならば間違いなく星５つなのですが・・・。

まさにタイトルにあるように銘器がそろっていて、写真もとても良い！楽器の一つ一つに解説があり、わかりやすく書かれてある。知識になることもあるし、見るだけでも楽しめる一冊です。
