1981年東京都生まれ。堀越高校を経て、2000年に近鉄バファローズ入団。03年から2年連続で15勝を上げ、04年のアテネ五輪日本代表にも選出。同年、東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルスに移籍。04年に投手二冠(最多勝・勝率)、08年に三冠(最多勝・防御率・勝率)と「沢村賞」「パ・リーグMVP」「ゴールデン・スピリット賞」など、タイトル多数。本拠地球場に福祉施設の児童を招待する「岩隈シート」を設置するなど、社会貢献活動にも熱心に取り組む(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

ＷＢＣでここ一番という苦しい試合の時にプレッシャーに潰されず、大活躍してくれた岩隈投手。
口下手なのか、優勝後のインタビューでもあまり語ってくれなかったので、どんな人なのか気になっていました。
読んでみて、野球人としてはもちろん一流ですが、人間としても素晴らしい人格の持ち主であると思いました。
本を読み進めていくうちに、野球選手としてよりも、一個の人間「岩隈久志」の魅力に惹かれます。
これまで、右腕の手術や投球フォームの変更、球界再編など、
逆境に何度立たされてもそのたび乗り越えられたのはなぜなのか、
苦しいときでも負けないあの強さの源は何なんだろう？
そんな疑問に対する答えがこの本に載っています。


―――「勝利とは恩返しである」。
勝つのは自分のためだけじゃない、自分を応援してくれている家族、チームメイト、ファン、そして「人生の師匠」に、勝つことで恩返ししたいという強い気持ちが原動力になるんだ、という彼の言葉は特に胸に響きました。
人は、勉強をするにしても、仕事をするにしても、自分さえよければいい、まず自分が豊かになりたいと考えてしまいがちです。
しかし、そうではなく、「人のために頑張るんだ」という心を持つことで、１００％の力を出し切ることができ、
結果として勝利へとつながるのだとこの本で教えていただきました。

野球に興味がない方でも、問題なく読める本です。
スランプに陥って悩んでいる人や、そういう人を元気付けたい人には特にお勧めです。
私はもう一冊買って、友人にプレゼントすることにします♪

ピッチャーの顔の裏にある繊細で感謝の気持ちを持つ人間性に驚きました。正直、創価学会がらみということで読むのに迷いがありました。しかし家族を持つ一人の人間として見届けたいという気持ちが強くあり、読むことにしました。読んでよかったと思います。人間不信の世の中にあってこういう風な人もいるのだと思うことができました。

こんな方々に、ぜひオススメです。

・家族ってなんだろう？と思っている方
・仕事やその他で深く悩まれている方
・人間関係で悩んでいる方

など、、、きっと得られるものがあるのではないでしょうか。

WBC優勝の直後、TVの特集番組で「苦難を乗り越えた岩隈と、それを支えた妻・まどか夫人」といった内容をやっているのを見たのが、岩隈投手に興味を持ったきっかけでした。
その時は、「へぇー、奥さん、内助の功で偉いなぁ〜。岩隈投手も、逆境からよくカムバックしたなぁー」という程度の印象でした。
そして、たまたま町で見かけたこの本。

ほんっとよかったですっっっ！！！
タイトルが「絆」なわけですが、人の絆って、こうも素晴らしいものかと改めて実感しました。
ただ単に、よくある「逆境を乗り越えて成功しました」という「成功物語」ではなく、人間としての成長、、、そしてそれを支える人との絆という、大切なものを改めて教えてくれる一冊です。
