人間の生き方は様々だ。


例えば会社員。

定年するまで一社にこだわり続ける生え抜き。
転職を繰り返し天職を求める渡り鳥。
会社を立ち上げて一旗あげる起業家。


例えば三国志の人物。

義父を裏切り殺し、主人を裏切り殺し、部下に裏切られ殺された
"三国志最強の武将"「呂布」。

我が子の命よりも、部下の命を惜しんだ
"むしろ織りから皇帝へ"「劉備」。


主人を守るために体中に矢が放たれハリネズミになるまで戦った男もいた。
７回戦って、７回負けて、７回解放された末に服従した男もいた。
千の兵力で十万の兵を打ち負かした男もいた。


三国志には、そんな男たちの武勇伝が所狭しと詰まっている。

男の生き様、男のロマンに溢れた、文句なしの名作である。

子供の頃読み、ＯＬになった頃父と読み，そして、企業の中で人をまとめていかなければならない年代になりまた読んでみると、今のほうがなんだそうだったのかと感慨深い。桃園の誓いのように一緒に生きていける同志のいる生活をしてみたいと思いつつ、理想論の狭間と現実に阻まれ、でも人は何か大いなる志があるほうが人間として魅力を重ねていけるのではないかと思う。さあ、第二巻！！！

「桃園の誓い」がこの壮大な物語の始まりであるところが、
三国志の大きな魅力になっていると思います。
劉備・関羽・張飛の厚い（熱い?）友情と高い理想、人徳と個性…。
このあと、曹操、孔明の登場でものすごい展開になっていく始まりとして、
この１巻の始まり方は何度読み直してもいいです。

この横山三国志で初めて三国志を読んだときも
「桃園の誓い」っていいなぁ、こんな仲間がほしいなぁと思ったものですが、
あらためて思ったのが、
横山光輝氏の、
熱い思いを抑制しながらもセリフで雄弁に語らせ、
物語の全体像を見失うことなく読み進めることができる描き方が
いいなぁと思いました。
長いですが三国志入門編に最適ですね。
