　本書では、コーサラ国のルリ王子ことビドーダバが母親殺しを命じます。

　このような母親殺しは日本において、平成7年に削除された刑法第200条の尊属殺に該当します。

　因みに、尊属とは父母、祖父母など血のつながった自分より前の世代の者をいいます。

　尊属殺には死刑と無期懲役しかなかったこともあり、非常に重い罪とされていました。

　そんな中、尊属に対する尊重報恩という道義を保護するという立法目的は合理的であるが、刑の加重の程度が極端であって、刑法第200条は立法目的達成手段として不合理であるとされ、違憲判決が出されました。

　この判決の考え方は正しいと思います。

　しかし、子どもが親を殺すという痛ましい事件が増えたように感じる今日この頃、刑法第200条の立法目的である「尊属に対する尊重報恩という道義」のことをもう一度考え直してみるのも良いと思います。

「ブッダ」の言うことと最新の科学である「複雑系」、「非線形科学」、「複雑ネットワーク」、「ネットワーク思考」などから引き出せる結論がとが似ているよいうに感じる。同じことを別の言葉で言っているとしか私には思えない。「すべてはつながっている」、「すべては生まれ、生き、そして死ぬ」、それだけのことだ。そして、ただこれだけのことから、ブッダの得た真理や生物の進化の法則、貨幣の生滅、ネットワークの法則性を導出できるというのがなんとも不思議だ。

本巻の悟りの瞬間の絵がすばらしい。
