小学校の教員をしている私は，ときどきこの宿題を子どもたちに出します。
「今日の宿題はだっこ，だよ」とクラスの子どもたちに話す瞬間が
とっても好きです。
この絵本に描かれている子どもたちと同じ表情，同じ反応。
学校から帰ってから，家でどんなふうにだっこしてもらってるのかな？
どんな気持ちかな？
この絵本をめくりながら，そんなところに思いをはせています。
そして，この宿題を出した後，おうちの方からもらう連絡帳から，
子どもたちの反応以上に「だっこして，とってもよかった」と
おうちのかたが喜ばれたことがわかります。
だっこって，子どもたちも親たちも幸せにする，ふしぎな力があるんですよね。
そして，この絵本にも，読む人を温かい気持ちにさせる，
そんな力があります。

小学校１年生の娘が学校から帰って来るなり、「お母さん、今日の宿題は゛だっこなんだ！！″」と嬉しそうに言いました。
この本を授業で読んでいただいたそうで、娘も主人公のもぐちゃんと同じように宿題のだっこをしてもらって、にこにこ笑顔！！

担任の先生に素敵な宿題を出していただき、だっこする事を忘れていた私は感激してしまいました。日々成長する子供たちですが、だっこによる親への安心感が子供の笑顔から教えられました。
そして、いもとさんの温かな絵は子供も大人も優しい気持ちになれます。

子供をだっこすることを、すっかり忘れていました。
もう、幼児じゃないんだから！とおもっていたけど、絵本のなかの子供たちの笑顔を見て反省してしまいました。とってもあたたかい気持ちになる絵本です。
いもとさんの描く、優しい世界。すてきな絵本です。
