マニュアルということで最初のうちは持ち歩く努力をしていましたが、重い割にあんまり開くことがなく小児科研修の最後は殆ど本棚に眠っていました。だからといって机の上で辞書的に引くとなると少し物足りない→帯に短したすきに長し

このマニュアルの内容は小児科「救急」レジデントマニュアルとも言うべきのもの（沖縄県立中部病院の性格からいうと当然そうなる訳であるが）で、初期研修医・レジデントには有用でお勧めできる。が、ハリアット・レーンのように幅広くかつattending physicianにも参考となるべき深みはない。このあたりは改訂を繰り返すことで構築されてゆくものと思うが、この宣伝文句は誰がいったい考えたのか？

恐らく、昔言うところの小児科レジデント、にはいい本なのでしょう。
しかしながら、現行の新臨床研修制度でのレジデントには、ちょっと
内容が多すぎるかもしれませんね。

義務化された小児科ローテート。一般的な市内の病院の小児科を1〜数ヶ月
回る程度であれば、ポケットにマニュアルを入れておく必要すらないです。
喘息、上気道炎、尿路感染症、胃腸炎、水痘で殆ど網羅出来るからです。
小児科の外来にでもある本をちょくちょく調べて、指導医に訂正を食らい、
それをメモ帳に書いておけば十分でしょう。
数ヶ月に1回しか見られないような症例が突然救急に来たとして･･･ポケット
にマニュアルがあったって、解けるもんじゃないですから。

ベビーに関しても、新生児専用のいい本がいくつかありますしね。

小児科を後期研修で2年間回る人にはいいのかも？
