今までに読んだ和書の中でも間違いなく5本の指に入る名著．総論，各論共に内容に詳しく，わかりやすく，臨床医の目で書かれている．日本最高の膠原病医の真髄がここにある．必読．

リウマチ・膠原病のテキストがたくさんある中で、検査データだけに頼るのではなく、病歴のとり方、理学所見のとり方など患者から得られるちょっとしたヒントを大事にしたテキストである。プライマリーケアドクター、研修医、リウマチ膠原病を目指そうとしている医師にとって恰好のテキストである。また、著者がアメリカ、日本でのたくさんの症例経験から蓄えた写真が豊富であることもありがたい。

リウマチ・膠原病疾患に関する記述もさることながら、整形外科的な
診断技術、診断法なども盛り込まれており、内科一般医、家庭医が診療の第一線において整形外科分野のレベルを上げるのにも非常に良い本である。リウマチ学の入門書としては最適な一冊である。
