本書は診断カテゴリーのうち「Ｆ」に関する項目を、項目毎に解説を加えた上に診断ガイドラインを文章で示してくれてあるので非常に分かりやすい。ＤＳＭ-Ｘの診断基準集は単純明快であるも、どうしても羅列的になり、解説を加えた書を作りにくいと思われる。もちろんＤＳＭ-Ｘの有用性は高い。しかし本書ＩＣＤ-１０の診断基準はＤＳＭ-Ｘの様な割り切り方（示された項目のうち○個以上該当すれば診断する、など）をしていない点で精神の障害の分類には利用しやすいし、解説が得られやすい。

本書は臨床医、臨床心理士、類する職業または学生の方には、便利で知識の整理に大変重宝するだろう。また、最近では治療を受ける側の方がこの種の本をよく求めておられるが、本書は比較的平易な言葉で解説がなされているので、正しい理解が得られると思う。

本書は関係者にとっては必須のハンドブックと言っても過言ではない。

本書は、精神疾患の診断基準が書かれている。
精神疾患についてなじみがない人であっても、本書を読み、その疾患について調べ、
熟読することで、障害の概要を理解することができる。
また、医療に従事する人にとっても、診断基準を確認する意味で有用である。

「精神分裂病」は「統合失調症」に取って代わっており、
精神疾患においては、最新の情報も得ることができる。

最近、話題になっている、「知的障害」「広汎性発達障害」（アスペルガー症候群、自閉症）
「多動性障害」「反抗挑戦性障害」などについても書かれている。

コンパクトな書ではあるが、内容はよく吟味されており、
「精神および行動の障害」にかかわる人たちにとっては有意義な書になるであろう。

精神病は、体調の変化などだけでは、診断が難しいため、国際的な判断基準が存在しており、本書がそのひとつ。

医薬系クライアントの案件の勉強のため購入。

鬱や躁、過食、拒食、性欲過剰に統合失調など、既知のものから新しく知るものまで、分類の多さに驚かされる。

“メンタルヘルス分野はまだまだ開発途上にある”という印象がした。
