出生率が落ち込んでいる中で、赤ちゃんを産む事の素晴らしさが分かる本です。
自宅出産を中心に手がけている助産師である著者のそこまで行き着いた思いの変化や、自宅出産の素晴らしさだけでなく病院の必要性や連携など、とても分かりやすく書いてあります。

私も先日自宅で子供を出産しましたが、素晴らしいお産を体験する事が出来、今までは子供は一人でいいなどと思っていましたが、何人でも産み育ててみたいと人生観が変わってしまいました。
自宅出産を中心に書かれている本書ですが、自宅出産を考えていらっしゃらない方にもぜひ読んで頂きたい本です。

NHKの番組で知って「あぁ、この人にお産を頼みたかったな」
と思い、早速本探し。読んでみました。

先ず思ったこと。妊娠前・中に読みたかった！！

出産だけでなく、根本的な育児（＝育自・・・親である
自分も育てること）を書かれていて、情報だけが散乱している
育児書よりも、すっと心に入ってきます。

「こうでなければいけない」という書き方ではなく、出産も
自宅出産が全てという書き方ではない。病院だって大事、でも
自宅出産のメリットは母子ともにありますよ、ということを
書かれていた。

『産婆』さんがいなくなった現代、何世代も一緒に住むのが
見られなくなったこの時代に、何が母親を苦しめているのか。
彼女はそれを少しでも軽減させようと、日々走り回っているの
だと思う。
そして、彼女の次の世代を育成する為に、頑張っているという
言葉が、とても心強く、感動した。

実際に神谷さんにわが子を取り上げていただきました。この本に書いてあることはすべて正しいと思いました。いいお産ができてよかったです。
